What the extra $50 actually buys

The Core already ships with the 40-hour battery and the adjustable-tension sticks — the two specs that carry the most weight in our scoring. What it doesn't include out of the box is the carrying case, an extra set of swappable sticks and the 4 back paddles: all of that can be bought later as separate accessories if you end up wanting it, but none of it comes in the box.

That's why our scoring puts them within half a point of each other: it's not reflecting two different controllers, it's reflecting the same base pad with a different accessory bundle wrapped around it.
