Best budget

The budget answer, and it earns that spot honestly rather than by default: the HERO sensor is the real thing, not a cut-down version, and 250 hours on one AA battery means you will genuinely forget it needs power. What you give up against the two mice above is weight and the very top tier of polling rate and click tuning — for most players outside competitive FPS, neither is what decides a match.

Is 4.5x the price actually worth it?

The G305 isn't a cut-down mouse dressed up as a budget one: its HERO sensor is the real thing, with zero smoothing or acceleration, from the same family used in far more expensive Logitech mice. What it doesn't have is a high-polling-rate mode or tunable switches — it's a straightforward wireless mouse at 99g, clearly heavier than the two flagship mice in this category.

The SUPERSTRIKE earns its price with things the G305 can't match at all: polling up to 8,000Hz, a 44,000 DPI HERO 2 sensor, and Haptic Inductive Trigger switches that let you tune the exact point a click registers, plus 61g against the G305's 99g. For most players outside competitive FPS, that performance ceiling isn't what decides a match — but for someone who does compete at that level, it's exactly why RTINGS scores it the best wireless mouse it has tested.
