GTA VI Release Date: Everything Confirmed So Far

The release date, and how it got here

Rockstar first pushed GTA VI's expected window from late 2025 to May 26, 2026. On November 6, 2025, the studio delayed it again to its current date, saying the extra months were needed to finish the game to the standard it wanted. Take-Two reaffirmed November 19, 2026 during its fiscal Q4 earnings call on May 21, 2026 — the date now appears in the company's official financial guidance, which makes it about as firm a commitment as a release date gets before a game actually ships.

Platforms: console-only, PC not yet confirmed

GTA VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only. Rockstar has never simultaneously launched a mainline GTA title on PC — every prior entry got a console-first release followed by a PC version later — and nothing in Take-Two's official communications mentions a PC date for GTA VI. Treat any "GTA VI PC release date" you see elsewhere as speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.

Pre-orders and pricing

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026, across digital storefronts and select retailers. Confirmed pricing:

• Standard Edition — $79.99
• Ultimate Edition — $99.99

Both editions are available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Any other listed price you see (some retailers briefly showed a placeholder Xbox listing at a different price) hasn't been confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two.

What we know about the game itself

GTA VI is set in the fictional state of Leonida, built around a reimagined Vice City with a Florida-inspired backdrop. The two confirmed protagonists are Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has released two official trailers so far — the first in December 2023, the second on May 6, 2025 — alongside a refreshed GTA VI section of its website.
